Mr. Montiel is a Structural Designer. He attended Allan Hancock Community College in Santa Maria, CA and transferred to California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering. He is EIT certified and proficient in software such as AutoCAD, RISA 3D, ETABS, and RAM Steel. During his time at Cal Poly, Mr. Montiel took courses in bridge engineering, structural analysis, reinforced concrete design, steel design, and design of timber structures. He has worked on various projects during his coursework, including designing bridge structures, analyzing hospital buildings, and designing reinforced concrete structures. For his senior design project, he was the lead for the geotechnical engineering portion of the project where he gained experience in designing retaining walls and shallow foundations. Mr. Montiel hopes to continue to learn and grow as engineer with the goal of attaining his professional engineering license in the near future.
